Schneider, an engineering manager from Oakland, Calif., lost her 41st game on Wednesday to Rhone Talsma, a librarian from Chicago.
Compared to recent “Jeopardy” challenger James Holzhauer, known for his flashy wagers and aggressive gameplay, Schneider’s approach to glory was relatively understated. Still, she’s indomitable with the buzzer and has waltzed into every Final Jeopardy round since her first with an unsurmountable lead.
“I had thought that Rhone was going to be tough going into it,” said Schneider. “I loved hanging out with him, we had great conversation before the taping, but I could tell that he was here to play and that he was going to be good. I still came very close to winning, but I did feel like maybe I was slipping a little bit. And once it was clear that he was fast on the buzzer, I knew it was going to be a battle all the way.
“It’s really been an honor,” Schneider said. “To know that I’m one of the most successful people at a game I’ve loved since I was a kid and to know that I’m a part of its history now, I just don’t know how to process it.”

Devastated.... if not for that unlikely sequence of events (daily double right near the end, Amy not queuing up Bangladesh fast enough), this was looking like another easy victory. Glasses guy better go on an even longer run or else all the excitement is gone (for now).
Curious if the spoiler comments on this thread are people who follow or those who follow the hashtag. If the latter, I would suggest always stay away until after you watch. Twitter isn’t new. There are always spoilers for west coast or by those who stream shows early.

The game is fixed there is no way that Amy Schneider could not come up with Bangladesh the show forced her to quit so they don’t lose money period
It looked she was about to whiff on final. And then she did. But she was generally off her game tonight. Heck she missed a few makable questions. And she started slowly. The writing was on the wall.
