Donés, the leader of one of the most popular Spanish bands, both in Spain and abroad, posted a balcony video to announce his return in song. The singer and songwriter known for “La Flaca,” “Depende,” “Grita” and other Billboard Latin Songs-charting emotional rock fusion ballads, had publicly said he was retiring from his musical career in after a 20th anniversary tour, which followed his treatment for colon cancer.
He had closed that video by assuring he would at some point return. Jarabe de Palo had since then been absent from stages and social media, with the exception of two sold-out sets the band played in in December 2019 in Barcelona to raise money for cancer research. On Wednesday night , there was a new video was posted on Jarabe de Palo’s YouTube channel: “I’m back,” Donés sang, whistling and playing his guitar while he glanced at a piece of paper on which he’d jotted down lyrics:Vuelvo, porque vuelve a ser la hora de compartir sentimientos.Vuelo a ser lo que siempre he querido ser…”
While it could be a while until Donés and Jarabe de Palo actually perform on stage in front of a live audience, news of his comeback made
