TOKYO - Japan’s industrial output snapped four months of decline in June, pointing to a modest recovery in broader business and consumer activity in the world’s third-largest economy following a heavy hit to demand from the coronavirus pandemic.

Official data released on Friday showed factory output increased 2.7% in June from the previous month when it hit its lowest level since March 2009 during the financial crisis. “We think manufacturing output will rise by around 9% in the third quarter,” said Tom Learmouth, Japan economist at Capital Economics.

Analysts expect the economy to have shrank by more than 20% on an annualised basis in the second quarter as the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown measures seen around the world delivered a blow to business and consumer demand.

If Japan can work, so can we!

When done properly it can be done ✅

realDonaldTrump See, DonnyDumbDumb, this is what could be happening in the US if you hadn't completely mishandled the Covid-19 pandemic. Like other countries with competent leadership, Japan's reopening & people aren't dying in their 10s of thousands. You're a joke!

Japan is now in a second wave of COVID infections. Opening the economy will only make the situation worse.
