In her opening statement, Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., said the panel's first choice was to have an independent, bipartisan commission not made up of lawmakers to investigate the attack -- but that effort was killed by Republican leadership.
Cheney also reminded that Republicans had"recognized the events that day for what they actually were" in the days after the attack, even if members downplay it now, but said the committee's work is just beginning.
Was there intent and plan to make enough trouble to stop the confirmation of the election? Even for just laughs? Seems like this was obvious for months up front. The more dramatic and legal word for that kind of hobby is ”conspiracy” and ”insurrection”.

As I watch the January 6th insurrection I’m so ashamed of what the Republican Senators will not admit to what happened and it makes me wonder how many of them were involved! In my opinion Trump and some of these Republican Senators should be removed from office!
