Under Ferraro’s proposal, if voters said “yes,”, all monuments including Andrew Jackson on the horse and the sculpture at Memorial Park dedicated to Floridians who died in World War I would be removed from Jacksonville.

Stephanie Bennett, Action News JaxThere’s a new push to let you decide what happens to Confederate monuments in Jacksonville, and perhaps other historical markers.

According to Ferraro, he’s trying to show that removing one monument can be a slippery slope, leading to the removal of any type. “This would include any historical markers, or statues, or monuments or anything like that. The idea is to tell the whole history and all the history,” he said. Ferraro explained how Jacksonville has a rich history, and he wants to use it to bring people together, not “erase” it.“Personally I think by pulling the monuments down you’re just kind of completely erasing history, but I do think it should be left up to the people to decide,” one man who wanted to stay anonymous told Action News Jax.

BenFrazier of NCOJ says “The latest city council proposal regarding the confederate monument controversy is a cowardly and very dangerous idea. The Public referendum proposal has the potential to make Jacksonville a national hotbed of racial controversy!” FrazierBen

This a lame attempt by Ferraro to jump start a flailing mayoral campaign.

I believe the proposal it’s self is a conspiracy, why wouldn’t the voting state confederate historic monuments to be voted on hence the racist point of view of the country not the monuments they collaborate with all free Americans

That’s tax based on property value. He says revenue will rise because of new construction but since we have no impact fees any longer that new construction will need improved roads and services which we all must pay for. This is actually kicking the can down the road once again. The problem is mismanagement of funds by lennycurry which is why hyperinflation is affecting Jacksonville so bad.
