One more vote would have put Fielder at 60.14 percent. As it was, she received 59.4 percent — close, but no endorsement. , endorsements can only be rescinded by a two-thirds vote of members at a future meeting, or under “extraordinary circumstances” by a three-fourths majority of the executive committee.
The lack of endorsement means no candidate will be featured on any campaign mailers or digital ads that the club takes out this year. The evening started with members lining up outside of the Bernal Heights Neighborhood Center at 515 Cortland Ave. and, while they waited, attendees took the opportunity to speak to and greet the candidates who arrived on the early side. About 150 people attended the event.
All of the candidates but one said they were not looking for endorsements from these groups. That one candidate, Chandler, said he had participated in many house parties organized by TogetherSF because he was open to talking to anyone who wanted to hear his plans.
