Italy prepared to open a new bridge on a stretch of highway connecting the port city of Genoa to France, almost two years to the day after its predecessor collapsed

Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte was due Monday to inaugurate the new bridge, which was designed by star architect Renzo Piano and was built in little more than a year.
