April 20, or 4/20, is known as"Weed Day" in some circles because the date corresponds with a numerical code for marijuana. Yes, it seems arbitrary. So how did the number 420 come to represent smoking pot?First, let's get the myths and rumors out of the way:The legend of the California penal codeRead MoreSome claim the number is drawn from the California criminal codes used to punish the use or distribution of marijuana.

The legend of the WaldosAccording to Chris Conrad, curator of the Oaksterdam Cannabis Museum in Oakland, California, 420 started as a secret code among high schoolers in the early 1970s.A group of friends at San Rafael High School in Marin County, California, who called themselves"the Waldos," would often meet at 4:20 p.m. to get high. For them, it was an ideal time: They were out of school but their parents still weren't home, giving them a window of unsupervised freedom.

I find it very offensive that you would show a black hand holding that marijuana joint. That is perpetuating the myth that blacks and non-whites engage in drug use at higher rates than whites. Please correct this problematic imagery. Thank you in advance.

I always heard that it was because a “420” is police code in some states for marijuana smoking in progress and it evolved from there.

Let’s see who can be the 420 retweet and 420 like. 🍃

how are we too this point where we are okay with drug abuse.

I blame it on the same people who say hella.

Oh, I thought it was because pot heads were annoying, and wouldn't shut up about how much they smoke, so they wanted to make an even more annoying 'holiday' around it.

20 years on, Columbine survivors tell Parkland students: 'We're sorry we couldn't stop it.'Columbine and Parkland. Two high school massacres, two communities changed forever. Two fateful days, two decades apart. Tragic bookends in American history. In all, 30 lives lost: 13 in Colorado in 1999, 17 in Florida in 2018. Democrats/media (same thing) love them school shootings! Trump's fault... oh wait he wasn't president yet I think we need to let these people heal without social media judging them for what their motives might be. You can’t deal with it than sign off. I don’t believe the media should exploit them for ratings but that ship sailed 20 years ago or more.
