. The jars’ vacuum-sealable lids were promptly discarded to the junk drawer “just in case,” and the cabinet was fully stocked with “unorthodox” drinkware.
When mason jars are used for their intended purpose, I take zero issue. Use them, by all means, for pickling veggies and making strawberry preserves. They’re a utilitarian vessel, after all, most useful for preserving salsa or housing aAlas, their modern-day primary application is far from functional.
Here's another repeat offender: mason jars as decor. Why does this persist? Around the same time as washi tape-everything , Pinterest was inundated with mason jar hacks, DIY projects, and ways to incorporate them into your wedding tablescapes. Close your eyes and picture the application of the trend. Now open them.
Since I do food preservation through water bath and pressure canning I always have a surplus of mason jars. They will be used for many purposes around my house including drinking.
sorrynotsorry
What if we actually use them to can fruit and vegetables? Can we keep them, then?
Time for YALL to say goodbye. You do realize before it became trendy some of us drank out of and stored things in “upcycled” mason jars because we had no other choice...
That’s irresponsible tell people to ditch a functioning item just to spend more money
Not happening.
no
DELETE THIS.
Speak for your damn self.
This reminds me...I need to buy more Mason jars. The straight-sided ones are great for meal prepping and freezer storage
i am sorry carolinemmullen
You need to hush. Mason jars are pretty much the best thing next to sliced bread. What’s wrong with you?
No.
keegsocial 🥺 but--but....it's a MAAASONNNN.
Whoever wrote this is dumb That’s all I got
No.
Yikes. I’m not even going to click on this.
No.
How TF do you have trouble drinking from a mason jar? Is your go to a sippy cup?
NO.
Some folks like jars, even if they've just plopped some flowers in them, or drink their tea out of it. We need more reuse & less buying things that fit the latest trend.
Impressed without reading the article because someone from is actually responding in the Twitter comments
Wait so now I can add “choice of drinking vessel” to the list of things I can get shamed for? 😅🤷🏻♀️
It's time to say 'goodbye' to plastic, and say 'hello' again to mason jars. 😊
Nah.
mason jar drinking glass = dribble city
Nope. Water tastes better than ever out of a mason jar.
haleyleigh what kinda craziness ...?
Where does one get these particular ones?
Ew no. Jars are great. They can easily be cleaned, upcycled or recycled, and they look cute. Get rid of plastic.
They will be here long after you aren't. Try again.
Nope.
Wide mouth mason jars are a superior kitchen item. Straight sides means they fit well and wash well in the dishwasher. Used to store leftovers, they also microwave more evenly than other containers. And they are plastic free!
Nope
Mason jars aren't meant to be for drinking.
I'm not a fan of the Ball jars, but I still know their history and value. Just because you can't wrap your self described undersized fingers around the jar doesn't mean everyone must get rid of them. Girl, bye. 😂🧉 usetwohands getasmallerballjar
NOPE!!!!!!!!!!! So we could buy y’all glassware.
If you don’t want them, you can re-utilize them by donating them. Yes, I can and make preserves. I want to carry on what my mother taught me.
I'm not reading it. the title is enough to know this is a bad read....ok, I glanced at the article. yep, I was right. totally stupid article.
no.
Just because it looks like a smash toast when you drink from Mason jars doesn't mean everyone will say goodbye
no
how was this written in 2020
Do you not know what a straw is? 😂
Ludicrous and silly article. Try again.
Nah, I'm good.
didn't you try this kind of clickbait last year where you'd find some dork to write a post titled 'onions are bad, actually'
why?
never. thanks.
