That means a V-8 and a six-speed sending power to the rear wheels via a limited-slip differential—no fancy all-wheel-drive tricks here.
Champlin has no trouble charging through rural Illinois backcountry in this Corvette, traversing heavily graveled roads with gigantic rocks that would easily disable a normal C5. He even goes as far as to drive it through a shallow river, where it makes it through without issue. By the end of the video, the car begins to overheat—a likely byproduct of all the sliding and full-throttle pulls. But otherwise, the car survives to live another day.
