It’s Official: Men Are Shopping for Skirts More Than Ever Before

For as long as there have been garments, there have been men wearing skirts. And yet American hang-ups about gender have effectively killed the idea in a mainstream way, siloing pleated minis and swooshing maxis to the womenswear section. Eventropes—didn’t get the movement going in broader pop culture. But since the spring 2018 season, skirts have been gaining traction on menswear runways, and no one is more to thank for that than Thom Browne.

The kilt-loving designer has dutifully put a dude in a miniskirt in most, if not all, of his runways since. It’s paying off. Today’s of the hottest items of 2021’s second quarter ranks Browne’s menswear skirt in the top 10. It’s the first time in Lyst history that a skirt has broken the top 10 for menswear.

Boys .... skirts look far better on the girls. Just saying... now when it comes to Boxers ... you are king.
