On Monday, Meta announced the Meta Store, which will be the company's first attempt at selling its physical products — including the Quest 2 virtual reality headset and Portal video calling device — directly to consumers in person. The store will also offer demos of the Ray-Ban Stories smart glasses that were developed with Ray-Ban, but customers who want to buy them will be directed to a Ray-Ban website to do so, Meta said.
It is, in part, an effort to get consumers more familiar with Meta's plans for a so-called"metaverse" —- a sci-fi concept that envisions, essentially, an immersive version of the internet, which the company spent billions of dollars on last year via Facebook Reality Labs. Walmart will close its Mayfield Heights store in May; 2nd Ohio store closing this yearThe company said the decision was made after a review process determined it was underperforming financially. Mayfield has lost the tax revenue from tens of thousands of employees who commuted there to work for Eaton and Progressive. And they aren't coming back. Mayfield is going to implode.
