It's #FreeThePill day, a day of activism to make birth control available without prescription

Nearly 60 years after the Food and Drug Administration approved the birth control pill, women and health activists across America are campaigning to make the oral contraceptive truly accessible to all.

Pretty sure you need a prescription because they need to be dosed correctly. Birth control pills are not one size fit all. You could make yourself sick with the wrong dose. Doctors should definitely stay involved in that.
