After the American Civil Liberties Union this week reported they are unable to find the parents of 545 migrant children separated, President Trump at the last presidential debate said “we’re working on it”.
But as the Deputy Director of the ACLU Immigrants' Rights Project, Lee Gelernt, points out, this task has fallen on groups like his. Gelernt joins MSNBC’s "American Voices" host Alicia Menendez and NBC News National Security and Justice Correspondent Julia Ainsley on the efforts to reunite these families and how this happened.

Maybe the families should have followed our immigration laws in the first place, applied for visas, and when approved, came here legally as a family unit and stayed together.
Where are the parents, and why haven’t they contacted the US government. Is it possible they don’t even know their children are here?
This is unacceptable, the judge has got to order the government to pay the costs to reunite these children THEY SEPARATED.
Thank you to the kind people who are trying to reunite these families. Rebukes to the ones who separated them with no intention or plan to reunite them. Here's hoping the reuniters get an influx of funds and assistance to speed up their process.
This is Trump”s America. We can”t begin to thank these pro bono groups enough.
How about people don't try to break into our country illegally with their kids?
