Israeli forces intensified their attacks on Gaza hospitals this weekend, leaving health providers and thousands of patients trapped in hospitals that are no longer operational due to Israel's blockade on electricity and fuel. The director of al-Shifa hospital in Gaza City stated that they are 'launching a war' on the hospitals in the area, with bombardments and fighting in the immediate vicinity leaving care workers , patients, and sheltered individuals trapped.
The blockade has also forced dozens of patients to seek treatment outside of Gaza. According to the World Health Organization, there are still at least 600 patients, 200-500 health workers, and 1,500 displaced people taking shelter in al-Shifa hospital
