JERUSALEM - Confirmed coronavirus cases in Israel have jumped by 40 percent to 427 in the past 24 hours, the Health Ministry said on Wednesday, predicting a steeper rise as mass-testing is implemented. Having urged Israelis to stay home and approved cyber-monitoring of their movements to reduce infection risks, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said at least 3,000 coronavirus tests would be conducted daily, including at new drive-through stations.

“We will reach a situation in which there are many hundreds of new patients each day, and possibly more,” Moshe Bar Siman-Tov, director-general of the Health Ministry, told Israel’s Army Radio. Up from the 304 confirmed cases reported on Tuesday morning, five of the 427 patients were in a critical condition, the ministry said.In the occupied West Bank, Palestinians health officials have confirmed 44 cases. None have been detected in the densely populated Gaza Strip.

Wow. Terrible

This flu thing huh

The kind of headline that fuels panic. You’re supposed to be better than that,

When you test for a virus that is already there, you find it.

I’m no Trevor Einstein but 40% is below 50% so that’s a fail mark for the virus. Looks like we are winning the war against this harmless cold.

That headline is a grabber, but it scares people. Is that because of testing or spread?

How about cases of Palestinians

Its Trump's fault.

Alarming U.N. Report Finds World Lost 40 Million Acres Of Personal Space Last YearNEW YORK—According to an alarming report released Friday by the United Nations, nearly 40 million acres of personal space were lost around the world in 2015, with data showing these vitally important yet extremely vulnerable regions are being wiped out at the fastest rate on record. “During the last calendar year, the steady encroachment of humans led to a reduction in personal space of about eight percent worldwide, which works out to a loss of more than a square foot for every man, woman, and child on earth,” said the report’s lead author, Irene Anderson, who noted that personal space has shrunk by more than half since the mid-1900s. “We must act quickly and decisively to protect our current personal boundaries if there’s any hope of preserving what little personal space we still have left. If we do not drastically change our behavior, it’s very possible that future generations might grow up in a world where a comfortable buffer zone between them and others simply doesn’t exist.” The U.N. report warned that the worldwide loss of personal space was rapidly approaching a critical tipping point, placing the global population at extreme risk of catastrophic crowding and jostling.
