A Palestinian official warned that communications and internet networks in Gaza will go out by Thursday if it does not get fuel for generators.

LONDON — Munir al-Bursh, director general of the Gaza Health Ministry, said Shifa Hospital is “besieged” by Israeli forces “from all sides.” “The reality is very bitter,” Bursh said. “The coming hours are very dangerous. He said Israel struck electrical generators, an oxygen station, water wells, part of the intensive care unit, a floor of the maternity hospital and another building in the hospital compound.

Bursh said that due to the lack of oxygen three of the hospital’s 38 premature babies have died since the tank was damaged Saturday. “The rest have severe complications from vomiting, diarrhea and colds,” he said. Dozens of bodies lie in front of the hospital, he said, as the staff cannot safely collect them. Other bodies were rotting and infested with worms because the morgue is no longer refrigerated, he said.
