It's been an exceptionally hot start to June in South Texas . Sunday was the fifth day this month that high temperatures have reached at least 100 degrees. So far, the average high temperature in June has been 98.7 degrees, San Antonio 's third hottest start to June ever. Thankfully, a summertime cold front will continue moving southward toward Central and South Texas on Monday.
Even though it’ll still be hot out, whenever we can avoid triple-digits, we’ll take it. In addition, the front may help to spark a few scattered showers and thunderstorms across the state. After a relatively quiet morning and comfortable morning, scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop in parts of Central Texas, the Hill Country, and South Texas. Overall rain chances in San Antonio are about 20 to 30%.
