August brings the familiar ritual of parents and soon-to-be college freshmen packing up for move-in day.
Amid the final flurry of preparations, there’s one task that shouldn’t be overlooked: anticipating and discussing the challenges ahead. Despite their academic talents and extracurricular achievements, many teenagers now headed to college...
parents who help their kids move and decorate crack me up. same ones who did their kids hw in hs
Couldn't have been more timely. And helping kids find the school that fits them, not just get in, makes a huge difference. Marquette

These are pre-Utopian times, but only because of me & my genius ideas. The way edu is presented/planed is a joke these days. It's done all wrong. As of these days It's too (Freedom Job) selected & willy-nilly. An outsider from another Country can just swoop in there & get that job.
Trying to get my one and half year old able to deal w their fears and challenges... that’s where it starts, not when a kid is in hs or college
Well said!! Retweeted!!
Is your mom emotionally ready is the better question. I bet the kid in the story is just fine.

Wow! Really? You mean safe spaces and sheltering students from ideas that counter their beliefs could be a bad thing?
You misspelled “have plenty of money to bribe administrators” “be able to deal with their own fears and challenges”
At some point they need to stand on their own.
Yep. Soft skills are a trial by fire for many incoming freshmen. Worse, when you try to address the issue in high school classrooms, you get push back from parents who think you should 'just let them be kids' until they graduate.
Is your child emotionally ready to be POTUS?
Unless it is a matter of life or limb, let them trip and fall, then point out the obstacle.
Probably not if they are from a household of leftist Democrats
Part of the problem is the extreme cost of college now. Academic setbacks, 'with so much at stake,' are made even more stressful.
Last time I checked we shouldn't be still 'your child' up to college, and it was all about facing anonymity and irrelevance to end the single-mindedness of an academic achievement-focused upbringing. Deal with it, mature and move on. Just know it is like that.
Are any of us ever ready? Cuz I thought you go and spend your first year thinking you’re gonna die the whole time, have a couple professors express concern for your physical and mental health and then spend the next 3-4 years figuring your shit out
College is overrated.
He rather be ready, cause there is no option... life is a swimming pool soon or later everyone needs to swim or you will sink...
— Good job Wall Street Journal Whatever u do, don’t report on the dummy in Chief —-
Well don’t be a helicopter parent and teach your kid to be independent
Last I checked, most people attending college are adults...
Good God! 🤦♂️
Fucking millennials
Oh I can assure you that Lamestream Media is incompetent and not the leading expert on parenting.
Stop hand holding!

Don't worry, the school will convince them to have reassignment surgery within 6 months.
