Dentists can’t eliminate all risk, but they are taking steps to minimize the chances of spreading theYou'll likely notice changes as soon as you enter the office. Many dentists have removed magazines from waiting rooms, for example, as well as some chairs to encourage social distancing. They also are spacing out appointments to avoid crowding their offices.

You may be asked to arrive for your appointment with a facial covering and to wait in your car until equipment is cleaned and the dentist is ready. Before receiving care, you can also expect staff to take your temperature and ask about COVID-19 symptoms.Coronavirus is spread mainly through droplets people spray when they talk, cough or sneeze. Dental care requires close quarters and procedures that can generate a spray of saliva and water.

Staff also have started wearing masks, face shields and other personal protective equipment. Some dentists are charging for all the extra gear, so ask in advance if you should expect extra costs. As the pandemic spread earlier this year, dental offices in the U.S. mostly closed, except for emergency care. By the end of June, nearly all offices had reopened, according to surveys by the American Dental Association. The AP is answering your questions about the coronavirus in this series. I went to the dentist last week.Basically had my teeth cleaned by someone ready to walk in space. Dentists were hit pretty hard with protocol changes after aids was discovered so I figured they would not risk transmission this time and make immediate changes to protect patients.

I went to mine because my tooth broke He took all precautions including taking my temperature. I felt safe and relieved to fix my tooth. Thanks Dr Hassan

Pretty sure I’d rather go to the dentist than the grocery store

Yeah im good right now

Not this one in WA state.

ask your mom

They already wear masks

I’ve had my teeth cleaned and a filling with no problems.

I have already been to the dentist and had my teeth cleaned. They did take my temperature and I wore a mask from my entry into the building all the way into the room and ask them when I can take my mask off. I followed all the procedures as they instructed me.

I went last week... with no issues.

Put another way, they are still reliant on cheap foreign labor some of which is illegal. Transmission is not occurring at work. It’s occurring at home in social settings! Not sure if it is willful disregard or lack of education. Replace the machine with state of the art self cutting and packing machines. Problem solved.
