The partnership between Bridges Art Movement and the Saskatoon Open Door Society is a platform for women artists from Iran and Ukraine.

In Saskatoon, she found a new art style.

Soon, Tarighat started doing abstract drawings every night before bed, “doodling and scribbling” her feelings onto paper. Often, she said, the end result was full of interesting and unexpected shapes. Working with Saskatoon Open Door Society and BAM, she has been able to marry her art with her teaching and start offering painting workshops to the public.

Shahbadi studied painting in Iran. Returning to her art practice in Canada has been a process of rediscovery.
