Iran reports 43 people infected with coronavirus, eight dead

DUBAI - Iran confirmed 15 new cases of the new coronavirus, Health Ministry spokesman Kianush Jahanpur said on state TV on Sunday, adding that the death toll has reached eight in the country.Since Wednesday Iran had confirmed 28 cases in total and seven deaths from the new coronavirus.

Trump likely gave them stronger one to Iran as the one he did to China.

If we use China's fatality rate 2%, are there at least 400 Iranians infected?

43 people infected? They probably consider only the hospital cases on critical condition! I bet the real number is between 500 and 1000 with high chances to spread !

Iran's foreign minister Zarif visited China on Dec 30, 2019 (China's coronavirus out broke in middle Dec ) asked China encourage its people travel to Iran during Chinese New Year ( Jan 25) to save Iran's economy. China touted Iran tourism to its people shortly after Zarif's left.

That's a lot higher mortality rate than china is reporting. Is this due to lack of medical care in Iran or China under reporting deaths? Probably both. We'll need stats from other countries to start to get any idea of what this thing can do.
