But when they finally encounter some, they're not exactly the kind of peers Claudia had hoped to find.
"Louis just gets increasingly worn down by Eastern Europe," Anderson tells EW. "He's really going through it. Initially, he's just trying to people-please with Claudia and is trying to find any way to reconnect with her, and he does that by just following her, essentially. But even though their goal is very much to find vampires and their vampire ancestors, he's still always drawn to the humans.
One of the turning points for Louis comes when he begins to hallucinate Lestat — the reunion fans have been waiting for gets a twist, since Lestat isn't actually there."It was actually like a really nice sort of family reunion," Anderson says of filming that scene with Reid. "It felt like slipping back into an old routine rather than jarring or anything.
