An interpreter for baseball player Shohei Ohtani is facing federal bank fraud charges for stealing millions of dollars from Ohtani's bank accounts to pay for his own gambling debts. The interpreter, Ippei Mizuhara, had helped Ohtani set up a bank account and acted as his de facto manager. Mizuhara was fired by the team after an IRS investigation into an alleged illegal bookmaker.
