The artistic personality of San Diego has always been enriched by our proximity to the international border; proof of that was on display Friday evening at the Bread & Salt performance space in Logan Heights. San Diego New Music and the Athenaeum Music and Arts Library co-hosted “Transborder Scenes,” a collaborative evening of new music by Radical Ensamble.
Radical Ensamble is a vocal group with members of both sides of the Tijuana–San Diego border, dedicated to the research and performance of pieces that reflect the complex and diverse nature of this region's identity. Besides Zazueta, Friday’s performance featured UC San Diego singers Mariana Flores, Isabella Panagiotou, and Israel Rodriguez.
