Instagram wants all its video content in one place

, Instagram says that it’s getting rid of the standalone IGTV app as “part of [its] efforts to make video as simple as possible to discover and create.

” The post also says that any videos in the main app will have a full-screen viewer and tap-to-mute, and that Instagram is working on a consistent way to share the different types of videos . The company is also planning on “testing a new ad experience on Instagram, which will allow creators to earn revenue from ads displayed on their reels” later this year.

Like sometimes I feel like the people who run these companies are 'sometimes' idiots ,why did you make an IGTV app when you can do everything on igtv using the main app 'Instagram' lol

The what?

It was a hugeeeee fail anyway. Facebook and instagram are dying.

I didn't know IGTV was Russian 😳

Hmm

Good. instagram states that there isn’t enough interest in an iPad app. Now they can take the team that supports this and move resources there.

the 3 people that used IGTV app must be really disappointed.

I remember hating the fact that IGTV had videos in vertical format, I thought it was stupid and unintuitive and YouTube is miles better.. few years later here I am using TikTok, a vertical video app.

instagram should shut down Reels as well

No one uses it tbh

People scream to stop using Facebook but don’t realize zuccc also owns instagram as well. I genuinely believe that guy is evil

The what now?

The IGTV was not a HIT.

I didn’t even know this existed, lol.

Did they ever fully support it? What even was it?

this is literally the first I've heard of the app

good. no one likes it

IGTV was a horrible concept. Much like Quibi.

Oh no. Much sad. Such disappointment.

Don’t forget about Thread.

Instagram just doesn't want people using anything that isn't the main Instagram app Just like Threads When it got very popular, they shut it down because more people than they would've liked used it instead of using their main app, Instagram

I’m not entirely sure what the IGTV app is or does. 🤔

Don’t know why they started supporting it
