FREE MAN: Corey Atchison, who served 28 years in prison for a murder he did not commit, walked out of an Oklahoma prison after a district judge dropped the charges. 'I can't hold no grudge,' he said. 'Life's too short.'

A judge on Tuesday freed an Oklahoma inmate who has served nearly three decades in prison for a 1991 killing, saying he did not commit the crime.

"I don't really know what I want to do, because my goal all these years was just to be free," Atchison said following the ruling. Prosecutors immediately filed a notice of appeal of the ruling and former District Attorney Tim Harris, who prosecuted the case as an assistant district attorney, has filed an affidavit denying he ever coerced a witness.

Congrat man. Free by the truth at last.. Who's gonna pay for the damages label against him?

He needs a go fund me page.

I always fear this putting an innocent man behind bars. I'm hoping the judge and jury have bad Karma doing this to this poor man.

SamiiPie13 Wow! His attitude towards this and life are remarkable!!! It's definitely a huge reminder for getting wrapped up in things so much smaller then this.

I cant hold a grudge?!?!?!?!? This guy committed that murderer.

Thank God...

This is the reason that the death penalty is wrong

Justice is sweet!

Great

👍👍That's a long time for something u didnt do. Thank God for DNA bc I know there's more ppl n those DA's who oppose testing idk how they sleep at night. I love hearing story like this n hate it at same time bc it should of never happened. Bless him bc Idk if I could b forgiving

Thank you Lord.

This justice system is fucked up. Hold the grudges. Remind every single jury members and the judge that they were wrong and pray that they rot in hell for stealing your time and peace of mind.

Serious questions must be ask, in relation to the JUSTICE System of America. When human life is not respected, in real terms. It’s impossible, to accept passively, without any human reaction to see an innocent man, free after spend 28 years in jail, for poor justice management.

God bless & make every moment a happy one.

Congratulations Cory! 28 years lost, Go live your life!

He deserves a check a fat check

28 years in prison for a murder he didn’t commit and he says: “I can’t hold no grudge”. God bless you, great man!

as much as he should be compensated monetarily it surely won’t make up for the years of his life that he lost. Where is the accountability when this happens ?

He has a whole different perspective on time now. Wise man.

Bless you. 🙏🏼

He deserves $1 MIL for every year of income lost, of memories never created, of a family he did not get to have, an adulthood that was denied, a freedom he never got to experience... I could go on. Thank god he did not get the death penalty.

excellent dental hygiene. Not sure whether the man is a pro in dental hygiene or the prison has good dentists....

If he served 28 years in prison wouldn’t his kids at least be 28.

Give him some money!

God blessCorey Atchison. May he have a life filled with happiness and blessings

Good feeling time.

CoreyAtchison PRAISE BE!!!! 28yrs of wrongful conviction. This brother being released as if he’s returning from a long restful vacation INSTEAD OF THE HELL ON EARTH IT MUST’VE BEEN. Woooow . . . GodIsGood

Congrats Cory and best wishes.

A good man!

If I was him I'd be trying to get PAID!!!

He gets $175,000? Def not enough in compensation.

Well I assume he's going to get a huge check for the trouble if he has a good lawyer.

Its sad how the treat minorities. So many have been falsely accused and falsely imprisoned. He is just one of thousands, I hope many more can find the same justice.....

“The finding of 'actual innocence' by Holmes makes Atchison eligible for up to $175,000 in compensation.” I think OK should pony up $175K per year. And there’s a prosecutor who should be facing charges.

US justice at its best or not. You decide.

Make sure the SICK FECKS who chant AllLivesMatter see this. My heart breaks for this man.

He's going to sue the state for millions for false imprisonment and I don't blame him one bit

Your Fake News!

congrats, fam! glad you home! why he look like dave chappelle though? LOL. congrats man welcome home!

Congratulations 🍾🎊🎉🎈

In my life terms: - Never would've meet my wife. - Never had my twins. - Never seen the Cubs win the World Series, fuck that, I would be pissed!!!!!

God bless this man. He is a fine example of how to forgive. May he enjoy every last minute of his life.

Unbelievable. 28 years and not holding a grudge. You sir are a better man than I. I hope you have a wonderful experience making up for lost time.

👍👍👍🌈🌈🌈

Undisclosedpod

'The finding of actual innocence means he's eligible to receive up to $175,000,' which works out to $6750 a year...someone needs to update that calculation! Even if he'd only worked part time at minimum wage, he would've earned more than that. And that doesn't include wage growth

Sure this man blessed . for standing with truth

Absolutely amazing. This man deserves a lot in life and I hope he gets it all and then some.

Awesome

How much more would have to Suffer and Die! Before Justice is Done! God Bless you

That’s terrible. Stolen life.

Life is too short ......TRUE TALK.

He is truly a Christian at heart and may God bless him and his family.

🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊

The end of a nightmare. Good for him, good luck, sir.

Yeah, and they shortened your life by 28 years. Fuck yeah I'd hold a grudge

God bless his heart.

Respect!

So many blacks spend DECADES in prison for crimes they didn't commit. Almost as if their was a for-profit prison system designed to lock as many of us up as possible🤔

How long before he commits a crime and is found guilty again?

Omg! It 'was not right but his words says everything about him: 'I can not hold grudge' omg,God Bless You.

I can't stop crying about this man's GD internal and spiritual strength.

This man should be taken care of the rest of his life by the state of Oklahoma.

Needs to get paid. In the Millions...

kwhalum Dont hold no grudge just sue the f^% out of them.

C

Hope all responsible for this crime are prosecuted and put in jail gor at least 28 years? But Knowing the corrupt Justice sistem good luck with that

28 years and no grudge, Amazing!

You need to be holding a grudge fool. That's 28 years of you life GONE for just being a black man! 🤬🤬

Thank Donald Trump for prison reform! Many have promised,no other President even attempted it,inc.Obama.

Triunfo la verdad

Bruh how has there not been a federal program to run DNA on sex convictions and overturn the ones that aren't matching that match to someone else ...

This really touched my life

God bless you. The best for you and your family .

$175,000 Or $11,750,000?

I would hold a grudge for that same reason. 'Life's too short ' you can't get those 28 years back.

He’s a better man than me. I’m not sure that is what I would say upon my release.

The whole justice here in America is racist and super unfair to thousand of Blacks imprisoned by over zealous prosecutors. May God judge them one day for their racist prosecution of Blacks and other races of people who have not commit the crimes they are accuse of.

Wow! So happy for Cory Atchison.

Investigators getting it wrong again. damnshame

He’s a bigger person than me.

This is amazing! Wish we could see more of this in our country. Instead people spew hate and intolerance for our flag, freedom, country, and POTUS.

Their needs to be more of these kind of moments. Less imprisonment. We all as tax payers need to spend, invest, and take care of our children.

How did this happen? Unacceptable. I am so sorry sir for the misery you endured grim sometimes agenda. WHO's?

28 years have gone now...

God bless you and have a great life !

This poor man. Good god.

Now Pay the Man !!

I hope he gets justice... not fair ... at all ... yes God sees all this injustice but he needs to be compensated 💰 cleared from record and much more ! He needs more ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️ someone please help him

Yaaaa and lawsuit is next🤔😀😀💰💰🙏🇨🇦❤️

He's stronger than me. The courts robbed 28 years of this man's life.

GeorgeTakei “The finding of 'actual innocence' by Holmes makes Atchison eligible for up to $175,000 in compensation for a wrongful conviction under Oklahoma state law.” That’s it? He may get compensated up to $6,250 for each year he served as an innocent man? Or is that $175,000 each year?

Wow...

This brotha deserves 28 million

Isn’t that wonderful

Now pay him and take a nice vacay my man.

GeorgeTakei Hope he gets lotsssss of money. It cant make up for time lost, but it will help him enjoy the rest of his time with little to no worries

They owe that man some money.

GeorgeTakei So he does hold a grudge?

Well he should hold grudges because I doubt the payment he'll get will be enough.

We need more fair judges. This will eliminate these prejudicial convictions and constitution violations. Please pay innocent citizen lost wages etc...

It's too short now for him

Not all heroes wear capes!

GeorgeTakei Wow 😢

ONCE AGAIN ANOTHER BLACK MAN ACCUSED OF A CRIME HE DIDNT COMMIT SO U THINK The_OJSimpson32 TheRealOJ32 IS GUILTY AMERICANS THINK AGAIN OH A STOP BEING SO NICE ABOUT SHIT LIKE THIS BLACK PEOPLE

😔😮🙏

Fantastic

Wow

How many more Black men are in that position. Corey Atchison, I salute you.

GeorgeTakei I was 8 when the door was first locked behind him. In that time, I’ve gone through primary school, high school, met the woman who became my wife, went to university, worked for a decade, went back to school for a career change, and started teaching. 28 years is insane to lose.

GeorgeTakei I'd hold a grudge! Why? Because life IS too short and he had to spend the majority of his life behind bars for a crime he didn't commit. Then to add insult to injury, they hardly compensate him. I'd be pissed. Side Note: At first glance I thought that was Dave Chappelle.

Too forgiving. There's nothing wrong with having righteous anger.

Take all thr money he spent on his defense, all the money thr state spent prosecuting him, all the legal fees court cost everything involvinf the case and double it then give it to him

What’s the price of freedom?

Mixed feelings, happy to see him freed and sad for all the time he lost imprisoned

There should be a line of Brinks trucks pulling in this guy's driveway to deliver him loads of cash immediately. Good for him.

GeorgeTakei How does he serve 28 years in prison for murder (even if he did it!) and Epstein serves 13 months for what he did?

This guy needs to get out of America ASAP! The cops will use any excuse to lock him up again.

God Bless🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Now get your 💰💰💰💰💰💰

Take a deep breath, just step back and think about, in this particular case, if the decisions maker in the justice system were in the health system. And it's a fact that such decisions are actually taking worldwide.

GeorgeTakei One million dollars (tax exempt for life) for each year behind bars sounds almost fare.

GeorgeTakei Especially, if you’ve been cheated out of 28 precious years by ineptness .

Instant millionaire

GeorgeTakei I hope he sues *EVERYBODY*

I would hold a big ol grudge!

He is a better man than I am. Hope he lives the happiest of lives.

Congratulations! May you live a long life for not holding grudges. My grandfather is 99 and he never hold grudges. LifeGoals TurthIsRevealed Forgive NoGrudge

He gets $175k it says.....

Mr. Atchison is an inspirational man. He realizes that “Forgiveness doesn’t excuse their behavior. Forgiveness prevents their behavior from destroying his heart.”

I hope he gets a massive compensation payout!

Just another American hero. I'd be spittin' mad.

I hope he's getting paid something

This made me mad, 28 YEARS?😡😡😡😡

HE IS BLACK AND QUICK TO CONVICT

The people that are forcing fake testimonies and hiding information should have to do the same amount of time in prison! Time is the most valuable thing in life, we cannot get that back! Blessing sent to him and a better life on the states 30 million that they should pay him!

POTUS Corey Atchison has been freed after 28 years of imprisonment. Any chance he can come to WH to receive Presidential Medal of Freedom? If anyone deserves to receive recognition for hard time served, it seems this humble man is uniquely qualified.

There are several cases in Washington State which parallel the indifference. AGOWA GovInslee Get to work Governor, your wasting Washingtonian Money on an election you have no chance of winning. Your State is a Legal Mess! realDonaldTrump

Okay don't hold a grudge; but at least sue them.

😭😕😟

How many people are serving time for a victimless crime of debt, wrong place at wrong time conviction, or just seemed to fit description. I caught a charge once for wrong place and time. Cop said someone had to be charged.

way of life .. truly inspirational 🙏

Very very sad, god is great . For compensation now DOJ has to take care of him and his needs for the rest of his life

Amazing! If he was a Democrat, he would have screamed “racist” to everyone, set fire to the prison and called on Antifa to riot in every city.

As an aside....All prisoners that were jailed for 1st time offense of marijuana use should be set free. The law unjustly focused on poorer neighborhoods while rich users of cocaine got off scot-free ...?

Hope you can enjoy the sunshine !

Woww that takes a whole lotta strength & resilience to be able to let go. Bless him. God will always reward every wrong endured..🙏

!!!

Here's a powerful case for why the death penalty should be scrapped. When you execute someone, there's no re-do button, no amount of 'oops' or 'sorrys' that can bring that person back. 'Proven innocent?' Too bad. 😬

God bless you man.

He can't hold a grudge but he can sue the heck out of them.

Tell me Again What a Racist realDonaldTrump is FraudSquad SpeakerPelosi SenSchumer

It's tragic that someone would be falsely accused of a crime and then be imprisoned for such. We need to do better job- if this is and or has been going on. There are countless people in prison 'labeled' as criminals when they VICTIMIZED no one - in the war on drugs - FREE THEM

28yrs behind BARS. And he was Innocent, somebody needs to pay.

That’s crazy

So happy for him. What a remarkable statement.

Bigger person than me. Twenty-eight years of my life that I couldn't get back? I'd be holding a helluva grudge. Sending best wishes to this man.

We know why he was locked up for a crime he didn’t commit. Pay him for every second he spent wrongfully Locked up

Now sue and get your millions for years out of the workforce.

Free at last free at last. Enjoy your life the best is yet to come.

I understand his elation. I spent a little longer than him in the dog house on trumped up charges and thrown out by sbi in 1996. Yes, Hon'ble Supreme Court granted me pension now. My fight to get my removal annulled is on.

Give the man a million dollars for every year he lost and let him go live the rest of his life in peace.

28 years though, man. I hope you get to live out the rest of your life worry free

Glad to see, Trump take credit for it yet?

I hope he sues the state and gets compensation to help him reclaim his life. So many years lost sad

Hey crazy I’ll sue the shit out they ass 😂😭

Leave it to Almighty

How does this happen do we just have a lot of crooked cops or crooked prosecutors or psychopathic prosecutors what the hell happened gee . I hope they give him a lot of money you sure can’t roll back the clock!

US$1 million for every year he was in prison! Nothing can return the years, but the authorities need to do the right thing!

28 years 😥 this is horror. Wish you Good luck .

This happens way too often. Could you imagine............ what it must feel like..

Must get good compensation from state.

He better be paid millions!

28 years & won't hold a grudge Joke of a 'justice' system.

This breaks my heart.

I would be holding a grudge

sue them mfs

You can hold a grudge. God bless you.

Why does this keep happening to black men? I'm happy he is now free but stories like this make me sick!

“I have got to spend some time with this little guy and make him into a man.” 😭😭😭😭

I hope is able to enjoy his life now free

Wonderful!!!

God bless.

👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏👏👏🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

28 years he can’t get back, I feel for this man

Salaayah1 28 YRS for CRIME he didn't COMMIT but can't HOLD a GRUDGE WHEN WHITE COPS KILL INNOCENT POC on CAM and walk for LACK OF EVIDENCE

I hate when justice goes awry Perhaps of ALL the evidence had been geard or if the police had been more thorough & followed the evidence instead of lazerpointing in on him because of his color. Oklahoma, YOU MESSED UP BIGTIME. Take care of this man.

Too many dirty cops in Oklahoma.

Unspeakable torture

I hope he receives a great deal more than $175K.

28 yrz in prison For something he didn’t do and holds no grudge! What a guy... I hope the government look after him and everyone around him for this!

Overwhelming.

I’d hold a grudge

Hope they give this dude a boatload if cash for this

Nothing can replace 28 years of being locked up for no reason

Prosecutors need to be held to a higher standard. In cases where they know people are innocent and obtain a guilty verdict, there should be criminal consequences. It's not enough to simply compensate wrongfully incarcerated while prosecutors move on with clean record.

Who are your lawyers bro? I know another innocent that needs to come out...

Fuck that- sue Oklahoma for everything they have

Give this man 50 million $ to make up for 28 years of his life. I know it’s not the same but what else can we do to make it up to him.

Great attitude! We could all learn from this! I can’t hold no grudge! Life is too short!

That's a beautiful attitude! Freedom!

🙌

No grudges, whoa

I’m so happy for him and his family. No better feeling than being vindicated. Love this story.

God bless him

This happens a lot more than you think...for all sorts of crimes. Peoples lives are affected yet they don’t seem to care what they put innocent people through knowing they’re innocent. Zealous prosecutors after one more notch on their case file.

God bless him 🙏

I hope he doesn’t get angry later after all the fan fair is gone! Yes life is too short 28 years is nothing to sneeze at

He’s very rich now

1 day is to long for a WRONG conviction and 28 Years 😳, my goodness man! I would be ecstatic at my release and every day after but I'd be bitter toward the people that took my freedom from me! Definitely need to square that man away with some finances 💰💵!!!

Pay the man.

Oh I’d hold a minimum of 56 Million Dollars Grudge 🤷🏾‍♂️!!!

That's an amazing response to a horrible situation. I would most certainly hold a grudge.

God bless him through this journey and give him many happy blessings

Best of luck to him. What an awful ordeal to have gone through

Oklahoma: 28 years too late.

Someone get this man a lawyer so he can sue the crap out of those who wrongly put him in jail ...

The people who wrongfully imprisoned him should take his place in prison. How fucking dare they steal 28 years of his life when they had evidence against someone else.

Sir, hold a grudge. Better yet sue!!!!

Twenty Eight years! Because a prosecutor coerced a witness. God Bless this man.

Bombast

mickvanwely 28 jaar... vergelijk dat eens met de 'straf' van de laffe sluipmoordenaar Volkert van der Graaf.

Now give him a million for each god damn year he spent inside.

I aspire to someday have tact of such a prodigious caliber. Circumstances don't become more tragic.

God bless him. Free man

mickvanwely Blessed

mickvanwely Enjoy life Corey! 28 years innocent in jail and feels no grudge! This is a great man!

Now that’s a great man, you can tell. I hope the city compensates him well. May God bless him.

natasharothwell He better sue!

Corey Atchison’s grace is impressive - no one should ever be forced to “turn the other cheek” to such a degree. We need to do better and to stop things like this from happening.

Will this poor man be earning some money for the 28 years that the justice stole from him?

Heart-breaking. Terrible injustice no amount of reparation can give him back half of his wasted life

28 years? For nothing? 😒

I’d be suing immediately. They took the most precious resource we all have: time

Amazing grace.

They literally destroyed his life. And to think that so many black men are going through this disgusts me. American society and justice was built to destroy us for real. They don’t care about our lives at all. That’s why we keep saying BLACK LIVES MATTER

PattyArquette Wow. There. Are. No. Words.✌️🌞

It's always a black man locked up for years for a crime he didn't commit.. this is so unfair..

This happens way too many times. My Heart ❤ So happy he's out. God bless you Sir.

Unless I've missed info, but I have never heard of a White person being WRONGFULLY jailed for several decades. HOW COME 🤔🤔🤔🤔😡😡😡😡

No grudge? What a man.

Can you (the whole USA) fix things, like this, instead of mediocre politics (stupid actions against your President equally paying attention to his stupid tweets)? Stop your pathetic internally power struggles like you are better and the rest are racists because you say so. Fix!

He’s nicer than me .. compensation etc .. Usa sadly has a habit of this 🤬🤬🤬

28 years and Oklahoma law states that his maximum payout for “wrongful conviction” is only $175,000? Never mind restitution; the man had no livelihood for 28 years and it may be a while before he is employable. Just sayin: 28 x modest $35,000/yr job = $980,000 lost income.

Way better man than me. I would be going 'Law-Abiding Citizen' on some asses. I am happy for you. Keep that head held high. Godspeed

NAChristakis Not guilty beyond a reasonable doubt is not the same thing as proven innocent.

But you've wasted 28 years of your life :/

His face isn’t bitter. Am completely blown away. Wish him all the very best!

What an extraordinary man. Get him on the JRE to tell his story.

Man is about to get a FAT check from the state

I'm holding a grudge for shit that hasn't happened yet. 🥴

Flawed law!

Oh I’m just crying and I’m so thankful that they found out the truth so finally he can enjoy freedom a gift beyond measure. Congratulations so happy for you

One of the many examples why I could not sorry the death penalty. The potential execution of an innocent person

As a foreigner, I have noticed that quite a lot of these miscarriages of justice in the US, tend to happen to Black men. Is this just coincidence?

PilkayCarol i need the same video but with a white man.

Too bad prosecutors aren’t always looking for justice, too many times it’s just for the win, regardless.

Show him the Money!

28 years. 28 YEARS.

Shameful that this man served in prison for nothing. Shame on those who put him there. Bless those who got him out!

Give him his fucking check

It was my pleasure helping him.

PattyArquette I’m so happy for you and I know your family is EXCITED about you being home ALL charges has been drop you are an EXAMPLE of what it means to be a man good luck wish that you get a healthy amount of money for the time you spent in jail

Prosecutors immediately filed an appeal against the ruling? They had 28 years to produce more evidence. Twenty 👏🏽 Eight 👏🏽 Years 👏🏽 this man served. They need to stop dragging this case out & let this man get on with his life.

I hope he gets a massive pay out and lives his life to the fullest!

OmarKelly However many years he stayed in prison he needs 28million x 2 in funds

Incredible! Justice, finally

Prison reform: good for people of color

My God. Thank God he is out. Thank you to all who worked towards his release.

life's too short because 28 years of it was stolen the state should be automatically required to pay at least $200,000 for every year of imprisonment for every prisoner exonerated forever.

Slavery didn't end. It just adapted. Every few years a good crime or drug bill kept it freshly stocked. The Dixiecrats and Republicans knew who in the private prison industry paid the best. A full Federal Pen for a state was a badge of honor. A successful work farm even better.

Some states compensate victims for this. I hope Oklahoma is one of them.

tell me hes getting a buttload of money

kakra68 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

'Man is born free but everywhere in chains '

God bless you Mr Atchison x

Congratulations my brother.

So many black men serve decades in prison for crimes they didn't commit. Almost as if there's a for-profit prison system that seeks to cage as many black and brown bodies as possible to keep the cash flowing🤔

Got to wonder how many other people are locked up for crimes they didn’t commit..

Wow, they stole a portion of this man's life and there are so many out there just like him. This is why we need to end privatized prisons, and restructure our laws

Sooo happy for this man.... and yet really really angry 😡

Well wishes sir! My heart hurts about the time he's lost! But I'm so happy for him to be on the outside! ❤💯

Well wishes to him.

That’s why they should abolish the death penalty.

Wow. 28 years and he isn’t holding a grudge. That is impressive. I hope he receives the support he deserves and needs. Is not going to be easy.

TanyaradzwaN_ This is heartbreaking..like wow a crying 😢

Scottie_Roc Waiting for Netflix series about this case for more details

This man is a more enlightened person than any of us will ever be. I can't even begin to understand how he is able to show so much grace in the face of such horrific injustice, but it sure is inspiring to see.

Jeez. 28 years.

He deserves to want for nothing for the rest of his life. He may not ask for it but he should receive it. What a wonderful human being.

Thank goodness for Justice.

This one escape but stop to kill innocent people.

Give this man $10 mil stat.

Wait til he finds out how fucked up things are on the outside..

Now the government must pay. Millions and millions of dollars. He has to live the rest of his life like a king. God bless his soul, he does not even hate people who stole 28 years of his life.

God Bless this guy.

Grace. All the best to him and his family.

KameronnJ Isn’t this odd af watching this ?

Quoting... Bryan Stevenson... we live in a country where it’s better to be rich and guilty than poor and innocent. This story seems to repeat and the main character is almost always a person of color.

Doesn't he deserve something for loosing the spring of 28 yrs of his life?

This is a horrific tragedy.

He should be given US$ 2.000.000 for every year he spent behind bars. He was victimized for 28 long years!!

I hope he gets what he is owed. What an inspiring man

No grudge over that?..he’s a better man than I. He needs a couple million $ asap.

All these tweets talking about $$$... This man has something $ can't buy, and we could all learn from his example. Everyone gets knocked down; it's how you get up that makes you different and changes the world.

What a man, exceptional human being, I would hold a big grudge. American is a dangerous place for blacks.

28 years? No grudge? Wow that’s mind blowing. God Bless him. XX

indrayam Those who set him behind the bars should be responsible and punished, maybe with prison time too

All your comments are full of compassion. Now please consider helping another innocent man. Freeing people takes money. Please look at his case and help if you can. ⚖️💛

gregg_re There is a bro who diserved reparations.

realDonaldTrump FirstStepAct CriminalJusticeReform bill he signed freed another brother. Trump2020 VanJones68

I’m so sorry he had to go through this and I wish him all the best.

Spent 28yrs in cage and still can’t speak proper English? Amazing.

Pay the man.

He Dindu nuffin

28 yrs of life taken away from him bc of possible Prosecutorial Misconduct? This is just 1of many cases which the wrong person has been incarcerated due 2shoddy defense, dishonest prosecutors, mistaken witnesses/mistaken identity. It shouldn’t take this many years 2get it right!

stephen_taylor The restitution he deserves isn’t $175k. Maybe that per year of incarceration

God is good

Nothing will get his time back but let’s start at a million a year justice

I hope the state compensates him for the injustice he suffered, I am sad but yet greatly joyed that he is a free man!

mr_jettlife gets only $130+k smh

This is why I don’t support the death penalty...sometimes the system is just plain wrong in its judgement. So glad he gets to spend the rest of his time here on earth free. His grace in his response is inspiring.

and that is the reason I am against the death penalty

It’s these falsely convicted that are due some kind of reparation.

Where are his reparations!! blacktax reparations Payback

I saw him hug kids so I wonder how they're related, unless he somehow was able to have babies with his wife or something? Anyway, super happy that he's free, hope whoever committed the murder and the people who put him behind bars rot in hell 👍

I think the prosecutors who accused him should get jail time

Is there a gofundme setup for him? Would like to send $

Twenty eight years = 28 Christmas mornings, 28 birthday parties, 28 years on the job (pension, 401k contributions), 28 wedding anniversaries, 28 Easter Sunday suits...his grace is astounding. weareabeautifulpeople

Dr. Clifford G. Fleetwood, Ph. D, E. JD, was also illegally sent to Florida State Prison by Judge Barbara McCarthy, and Michael J. Satz, he was 100 percent innocent, and a Bar Certified Attorney . They all now face a Grand Jury Indictment, and Prison in Texas case 19-CV-00675.

It's ok to hold a grudge, law enforcement does it all the time. People shoudl not always be expected to forgive someone elses bad behavior... CriminalJusticeReform

Is this supposed to make me feel good? Because there is not one GD good thing about this.

Now lock up the people who are responsible for putting him there I share that hurry up football fatlizard 93

Forgive but don’t forget, time to sue the state

Amen. I’m happy finally something good happened. My sincere apologies for what happened to you. It’s horrible. We need to do better than this.

RyderWhit7 That’s a double negative...yes?

One of the problems with giving human beings so much power over other human beings. My heart bleeds for him. ❤️❤️❤️

Wow! Great man! 28 years is so so long. I commend him.

For all the money that people give to fundraising politicians maybe think about giving something to this man. Hopefully he’s already getting his.

No wonder. Just watch 'The confession tapes' There is a very big problem with justice in the US.Looks like everything is valid in order to convict a person even if is the wrong one.

How does he have kids that age if he spent 28 years in prison? Conjugal visit?

Oklahoma has a tendency to lock innocent people up ? Making a murderer guy from there too?

❤️

A person with a heart from god.

can I get the Netflix movie about this?

'I can't hold no grudge. Life's too short.' Then he holds his son close. That dude is a man.

I sure hope he gets a HUGE settlement for being wrongly incarcerated. Precious time wasted in prison.

God Bkess🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

innocent innocent innocent innocent innocent innocent innocent innocent innocent innocent innocent innocent innocent innocent innocent innocent innocent innocent innocent innocent innocent innocent innocent innocent innocent innocent innocent innocent ... 28 years of innocence.

Sue everything and everyone Corey!

People who know this man, should set up a GoFundMe for him and spread it is far and wide as they can. He’d make an easy million within just a few days.

Aw hell nah

I hope he has the life he deserves and is extremely happy and at peace. I admire him. I do not know if I would be able to be so gracious and loving after that. Good luck and Godspeed!

If he lives 90 years, that's almost a third of his life in prison for something he did not do. Pay the man.

God bless you man ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾💙🇺🇸💙👍🏿👍🏿🖐🏿🖐🏿

CarcinLoring Life's too short because he was locked in prison by a racist justice system for a crime he didn't commit for close to my entire lifespan.

Thank god

Awesome!

🙏🏽

❤️

RealBillDuke Prosecutors, judges, & juries should be held accountable for shit like this.... 'I can't hold no grudge,' he said. 'Life's too short.'

😭😭😭💔❤️😇

KomnasHAM apakah Jessica bs alami hal serupa ya😥

Amazing !

28 years has to be worth a lot. Hopefully that little boy never has to worry about money again.

Now sue & get your $ big dawg

Why the death penalty should be abolished

This is pissing me off all over again. Especially the underlying messaging. If he DID hold a grudge, that would be perfectly fine too. He was done dirty and deserved better than this fucked “justice” system. Pay him and give him whatever he wants for the rest of his life. Period.

THANK YOU JESUS 🙏🏾😇

White people are lucky black folks are so forgiving

This is like a weekly thing........but let one person kneel at a flat....

CBCAdrianH Wow this is awesome. Ty for retweeting Adrian.

Welcome Home Mr Atchintson , enjoy life to the fullest ,sorry for courts being so stupid and convicted you for something you didn't do. Welcome.!

Someone has a ton of money coming his way. Good for him!

I'd come out of there swinging.

28 years. Twenty Eight Years

nvarghese23 'Up to' $175k is not a way to make up for his life. Our system is corrupt and it sickens me. This man was in prison 8 years before I was even born. He should be fairly compensated for the next 28 years of his life!

God PUNISH WHITE FOLKS... that it always Black man in this

Can’t get that time back idgaf if u gave bro millions , u can’t fix that mental strain

Leeblev50045868 Sorry man, This is very sad and bad why did he end up there if he's innocent?

Anything to hold are black men down smh 🤦‍♀️

This is why we need a better system !

damn, sue

Pay this man his 28m for the years he missed

Hiw does a man in jail 28 yrs have a 8 yo son

This is why I’m now anti-death penalty. The state shouldn’t have the power to execute.

Why isn't the original prosecuting attorney being disbarred and sued

Great!

So sad and so uplifting at the same time. I hope the rest of his years are full of joy & make up for his time lost.

Congratulations

This is horrifying. This poor man lost a lifetime for something he didnt do. They better be hooking him up $$$$$$$$$$

Painful

Better man than me. I’d be holding a grudge like a mofo. Glad he is out and hope he is well compensated for the rest of his shortened life!

I would hold a grudge and sue. Awful how this can happen to an innocent person.

RobertAlai ,victor_maingi

zeno_e 1 in 9 death row inmates have been found innocent in America.

We don’t deserve this type of grace, America.

Step aside, I’ll hold the grudge for you Corey 👌🏾

That man is living Jesus' lessons

May the rest of his life be blessed.

Justice for this man is absolutely beautiful.

OmarKelly Happy for him... but they been fucking knew you did not do it, 26 years ago. This is bullshit.

Perfect attitude, Corey. Holding a grudge only affects you. Good luck sir. 🙏

tweet4all2c I hope he is rewarded for all his pain

I’d hold more than a grudge...he better sue the state and win a lot of $

Thank heavens!

After spending 28 years in prison, this man is only eligible to get $175,000. That’s crazy

Congratulations

What a humble, peaceful, kind soul...because if that was me I'd be burning the place down & raging out like a mofo!

How old were you when you Get arrested?😢😢

Bless him. 💙

WOW! May GOD help him strive for a great future that he has in front of him.

And that is exactly why no country anywhere ever should have the death penalty. You can’t bring a dead innocent man back 28 years after he’s been fried like an egg

God Bless 🤗🤗🙏🙏❤❤❤

Compensate this man.

Amazing!!!

scchumpert Great news, but it would be hard not to hold a grudge. God bless him. ❤️

Someone owes this man some money, at least a house

I sure hope he gets some compensated..

He’s damn lucky

28 years of your life, man . You can't hold a grudge.THAT'S 28 YEARS OF YOUR LIFE. You should be outraged. You wanna play that role, ok.ll 'ok I'll be outraged.

Although money will never make up for what he has lost, he deserves to walk out of there rich enough to never have to work a day for the rest of his life and just enjoy the time he has left however he sees fit.

But Jesus, after 28 years!

That state should give him a million dollars for every year he was locked up. They freaking knew he was innocent

Praise the Lord!

Amazing man! He holds no grudges. He is an inspiration 🙏

jellen805 Wow don’t think I’d feel the same way but glad he’s out and hope he hits the lottery! Good luck going forward✌🏼🍻

Wow.

The Internet wasn't even a thing when he was locked up. The world will be so strange to him.

I am so happy for you and your family!

$175k in compensation? TOTAL!? I hope he sues the shit out of them.

$175,000? Dude is owed tens of millions!

Congratulations 🎊

Man needs to get paid.

Wow what a great attitude but should be compensated for time served !

OmarKelly Fuck that I’m filing a suit against every fuckin body!!! Make sure my great great great grandkids are set.

Life is so unfair and cruel.

🙏

My what a beautiful soul

Live your best life Sir. Glad your free and home with your family. Oklahoma owes him 28 yrs. worth and more. Damn crooked cops. Ughhh....

SeventhSon6 RepDonBacon you think P*ssy Grabber wants this innocent man executed?

Holy hell he’s humble af

Better man than me! I’d be holding hella grudges. Also, nice name, Corey!

So happy for you Corey. May God give you much happiness and many blessings!❤

Criminal Justice reform... System is broken as hell

A pattern that is repeated case after case. This is wrong. Another court experience of an unjust justice system intended at focusing on criminalizing the innocent. Incompetent at least, racially corrupt at best. 28 years will warrant anyone innocent to hold a grudge.

natasharothwell Sooooo do they give him some bread for loss wages and 401k investment 28 years is a long time

The Lord bless him!!! Praised the Lord! May his life is filled with permanent joy, blessings, and a full restoration of his past in a better future!!!

He better be compensated big time

Hey pulte TwitterPhilanthropyChallenge for Corey!!! What do you say!?! pulte pulte pulte

The state of Oklahoma owes him more than $175,000. He is a gracious, generous man and I hope the next 28 years are filled with only the best of everything.

give him 10 million for every year he spent atleast

God bless and good luck Corey🙏🙏🙏

And then we have Epstein, who clearly did the crime and didn’t do any (real) time!

Smh

You have to respect this man. This is a man with inner peace

Good for you man!

This happen to BlackPeople a lot in America. Abservant

I hope lives a long, joyous life surrounded by friends & family.

Someone needs to pay this man. Big time.

give this guy a FAT A$$ job!!!

Life is too short? Yeah no shit dude they just took 28 years away from you!! If they don't pay this man millions so he can enjoy the time he has left man

If this happens to you, you should be given $250,000 a year for the rest of your life.

Hand me that damn grudge, Corey. I’ll hold it for you for a while, don’t worry.

28 years. Torn away. And is the real killer in jail? This man is owed big time for his life destroyed.

Just one more reason our justice system doesn’t work. 28 years of his life taken from an innocent man. Up to 175k (joke). He should be paid at least 35-50k for each year he spent in prison because of a failure on the legal system. That’s 980k - 1.4 million in compensation

This is why I no longer support the death penalty.

This man needs to be compensated

What an amazing attitude this man has. God bless him

Can anyone imagine? The state should try to help him have a wonderful rest of his life. They owe him!

Thank god. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Oklahoma.....GIVE THIS MAN A BLANK CHECK PLEASE

EWErickson still cool with the death penalty?

God bless him and his family.

Be interesting to see the original police reports on it.

He is a better man than most. He should get compensation for 28 lost years. Should be in the millions.

I mean... you can probably hold a grudge...

This clearly nice person did not deserve to be incarcerated for a crime he did not commit. He should sue their stupid asses for making him miss having a normal life. He should be compensated for this.

The government is the mafia What a travesty

I’d hold that grudge. And watch my bank account add a few commas.

Fuck that, I need all that $ and the prosecutor prosecuted!!

Rufus_Alexander I’d absolutely hold a grudge... and immediately request my attorney file a civil suit for damages. 1/3rd of this mans life was taken away from him, including his prime earning years! You can’t get any of that back... there’s no do-over button.

I'm angry for him. 28 years of his life lost for something he did not do. A crime he didn't commit. Unforgivable.

aledes9 this is a common thing not just korey wise shit lmao

Doubt he’s actually innocent. I mean, it’s based on a “coerced” witness and not a verified alibis.

Shameful he spent 28 years locked in prison for a crime he did not commit 😐

RedSaintPotion Justice should hold a grudge.

28 million!!!!

I need a 20/20, Dateline or 48 Hours episode on this

Bless you, Corey.

Yea but that lawsuits will

Fuck yea I would hold a grudge! 28 years of my life !fuck that!

Congratulations! I hope he gets compensated well.

So there’s been a few changes in society that you should know about sir...

Man in prison for 28 years, holds 12 year old son....but in all seriousness, good luck to the man, and i hope he gets a nice big payout.

Does it ever end?

Life is too short?! I bet that was a long 28yrs tho...I need 5mil for every year fam..

Prosecutors should be prosecuted.

Good for him. I can't say I would feel the same.

'Life's too short'....That's exactly why you do hold a grudge, a very big one lol. He's a better person than me cuz id spend the rest of my life mad as hell

Glad your free, but no grudge,i dont think thats going to last!!

He better see a lot of $$$$$$$

This is unacceptable!!

28 years...

Don’t hold a grudge - sue the hell out of them.

Better man than I.

freepeeper Congratulations Cory! God Bless 🙏🏽

I'll save this as another example to present to people who question in disbelief my opposition to capital punishment.

Now get that man a couple million...so he can live his life!!!

Nah, he needs to sue Oklahoma!

surprisingly he's not White!

175000.00 in compensation that better at least be per year and then some.

I'm happy for him and his family 🙏

Better man than me, God bless. I'd be ready to go full Micah Johnson

But I will be suing for money since the government didn't accurately do their job and screwed me out of 28yrs of life which is irreplaceable

LAWSUIT!!!!

Make sense :) 👍👍👍👍

Give him a ton of money. He deserves it prosecutors.

28 years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit is a travesty in and of itself but coupled with Epstein serving only 13months on work release for sexually assauling children🙅‍♀️

Pay him

Praise God!

That’s awesome but damn so much time spent behind bars for not doing it.

I hope the hell he sues everybody involved and they give him millions of dollars
