WASHINGTON - The U.S. Trade Representative’s office said on Friday it has established a dispute resolution office and complaint hotline to enforce President Donald Trump’s “Phase 1” trade deal with China, which takes effect on Saturday.
Deputy USTR Jeffrey Gerrish will head the new office, which will field complaints about China’s implementation of the agreement from companies and other interested parties, the agency said in a statement. Both the United States and China are opening such dispute resolution offices under the deal’s enforcement provisions. The Trump administration has claimed that this mechanism is what differentiates the agreement from past pledges by China to change its trade and intellectual property practices.that will be subject to bilateral consultations if one side believes the other is not in compliance.
Beijing also has agreed in the Phase 1 deal to improve protection of American intellectual property, curb the forced and coerced transfer of U.S. technology to Chinese firms, open its financial services to U.S. competition, remove some agriculture trade barriers and refrain from currency manipulation.
Interesting that the chief negotiator signs and not the Chinese Emperor himself.
Xi makin the call be like:
Maybe create a number for those outside the US
What’s the number to call if you’ve been injured by Trump’s trade tariffs? Asking for American farmers, hardwood producers, manufacturers and consumers.
How about you stop Americans who steal your patent and have it made up n China before you can bring to market first?
Who do we call about the harm that Trump has caused?
No Trump succsesd
“Call me on my cellphone, late night when you need my love...”
How about those injured by Trump's handling of China's Trade Practices? What number should they call?
Where to start
