A new Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny fan poster recreates Harrison Ford's funniest scene from the recently-released trailer. The fifth installment in the franchise overall, James Mangold's upcoming movie sees Ford's titular archeologist facing off against Nazis again, but this time in 1969.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY After months of fan anticipation, the Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny trailer was finally released last week, affirming that Mangold's film will feature plenty of action and mystery. The trailer also features one hilarious moment: Indy brandishing a whip before a room full of bad guys pull out their guns.
In addition to making the films play better with audiences, humor is a key ingredient to the Indiana Jones franchise. All four of the movies' quests, from finding the Ark of the Covenant to retrieving the lost Sankara Stones, are filled with perils and dangerous enemies. Still, each is infused with a sense of fun, making each entry immensely rewatchable and fun for the whole family.
Of course, it's also important that Mangold's film doesn't veer too far into silly territory, which is one of the criticisms levied at Spielberg's divisive final Indiana Jones film. The fourth movie took some of Indy's heroic feats too far, from surviving a nuclear blast inside a lead-lined fridge to navigating three consecutive waterfall drops in a small boat. It remains to be seen how Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny will fare with audiences.
