In Zemeckis’ new movie, camera never moves, AI used to de-age actors

Robert Zemeckis’ upcoming movie will showcase generations of life, spanning a century. However, all the sequences will be shot in a single location without moving the camera from its place, not even changing its angle.Titled Here, the movie stars Tom Hanks and Robin Wright. The 104-minute story, which will debut in theaters on November 15, is based on a 2014 graphic novel by Richard McGuire.

Scripted by Zemeckis and “Forrest Gump” scribe Eric Roth, the movie showcases the century-long story of a single house and all the different people who lived there.his girlfriend and eventual wife Margaret. Through makeup and de-aging technology, the pair starts the film as teenagers and are well into their 80s by the end, reportedthe director, writer and stars of Forrest Gump.

The movie will be presented in the style of McGuire’s acclaimed graphic novel. In the movie, Tom Hanks and Robin Wright star in a tale of love, loss, laughter and life.begins by telling a story of a time when dinosaurs roamed, centuries later a forest full of deer roamed, and even longer when people dressed in colonial clothing walked hand in hand. Finally, the love story between Hanks and Wright’s characters is told as they move into what would become their family home.

The generative AI-driven tool Metaphysic Live is reportedly used in the movie to de-age Hanks and Wright. In the recently released trailer, the AI de-aging can be convincing for some, but it’s being used at a time when AI’s use in entertainment could bring some criticism.Prabhat, an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, is a tech and defense journalist.
