In unanimous decision, Supreme Court rules 'faithless electors' not able to vote as they wish

In a win for election officials and supporters of the Electoral College, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that "faithless electors" must vote the will of the voters and as their states direct.

Correct me if I'm wrong... But the way I understand it is, members CAN go against the popular vote in their state. But there can/would be consequences if they do.

The SCOTUS decision only places power in hands of each state. 36 states have no rules against rogue electors, so we could still have massive chaos in Nov!! Florida’s electors could still vote for trump even if Biden wins popular vote!!

Faithless electors are cheats, basically stealing the people's votes. The Democrats would love it if the SCOTUS allowed cheating. DemocratsDividingAndDestroyingAmerica

What this means is electors must follow state law. If a law passes directing the elector to vote for the candidate with the most national votes, not votes in their state, bye-bye electoral college, no amendment needed.

this would remove the only reason they exist. Founders wanted the ability to prevent the seating of a crazed popular person who won an election. Founders thought this out, current day dipshits blew it with impeachment and this further weakens our democracy
