Omar became a U.S. citizen in 2000 when she was 17 years old.
It is unclear exactly what Trump was responding to overall, as the subsequent tweet claimed the congresswomen were “viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run.” All four congresswomen have been vocal critics of the president’s immigration policies.
