WASHINGTON—Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, a National Security Council official who voiced concerns about President Trump’s July phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, will soon leave the White House, according to a U.S. official.
Col. Vindman, the NSC’s Ukraine expert, had raised the ire of Mr. Trump, who was angered by his testimony in the House impeachment probe. He is expected to return to the Army in the coming weeks, the U.S. official said, though his exact role is unclear.
He is not a victim. He cannot stay in that role.

I've said this before. By wearing his military uniform to a congressional hearing, he indicated that his opinions and political positions were those of the US Army. He politized his position at the NSC meaning that it is unlikely a military officer will ever hold that job again.
