Immigration has traditionally offset the departure of New York City residents to other parts of the U.S., according to Frank Donnelly, a geospatial-data librarian at Baruch College. The recent slowdown in arrivals from other countries, however, contributed to an overall drop in the city’s population the last three years.

Myself as immigrant, I don’t blame newcomers are declining. When the mayor and governor are so corrupted and the safety of living is not guaranteed, how could the new immigrants see their future in NYC?

Immigrants? Maybe if they're high producing specialists that contribute to society, sure, but my impression that isn't the case. NYC's economy depends on people who actually produce value and aren't parasites-that number is dwindling as people are fleeing that blue city.
