An Illinois judge has granted a temporary restraining order in a lawsuit over the state's school mask mandate. Now schools are deciding what to do.

- District 67 in Lake Forest:Gov. JB Pritzker said late Friday he is seeking an expedited appeal. In the past, he has been successful in overturning similar challenges to his use of emergency powers. But for now, this ruling is significant and could impact thousands of schools.

In granting them a temporary restraining order, Sangamon County Circuit Court Judge Raylene DeWitte Grischow said the mandates violate the plaintiffs'"due process rights under the law which provide them a meaningful opportunity to object to any such mitigations." "She's saying that what the governor and his agencies are doing is invalid," DeVore said."So if school districts want to do their own thing, do their own thing."

The Attorney General is seeking an expedited appeal from the Fourth District Illinois Appellate Court.

Deciding what to do? Here’s an idea…. Follow the law.

Fully-vaxxed CPS students are still being required to mask OUTSIDE. Please put CPS in the hot seat to explain the science on this one. IL districts moving towards optional indoor masking, yet vaxxed kids in Chicago can’t even pull down their masks during an outdoor game of tag..

This is such bullahit

Hint: wait til the appeal.

Judge's ruling against Illinois school mask mandate 'has potential to shut our schools down': IEAAn Illinois judge has granted a temporary restraining order in a lawsuit over the state's school mask mandate, though it was not immediately clear which schools it applied to. That is, Teacher's Unions will shutdown schools. That would be a dumb decision by the Illinois Education Association as it will do more harm to our kids! This headline is purposefully misleading. For those who don’t take the time to read the article, they are only referring to lack of teachers and it being hard to keep individual schools open IF too many are out with Covid. It never mentions a strike.
