Illinois, Northwestern heading to NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament

CHICAGO -- Both the Illini and Northwestern had their names called for the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament this Selection Sunday. After winning the Big Ten Conference Tournament Sunday over Wisconsin, Illinois earned a No. 3 seed in the East Region and will face Morehead State in Omaha, Nebraska, on Thursday. Meanwhile, for the first time in program history, Northwestern is going to the tournament in back-to-back seasons. They are a No. 9 seed and are also in the East Region.

1 overall seed in program history,' coach Dan Hurley said after the Huskies won their first Big East Tournament title since 2011 on Saturday night, 'so this is a group that seems to be making history in a place that it's hard to make history.'Hurley's analysis went a step further, adding that UConn has 'clearly been the best program in the country this year.'It's hard to argue otherwise.
