Indianapolis firefighters are investigating a vacant apartment building fire near 38th Street and College Avenue on Sunday, March 3, 2024.INDIANAPOLIS — Investigators with the Indianapolis Fire Department are asking for the public's help after the cause of a fire at a vacant near north Indianapolis apartment building was ruled arson.
The two-story building partially collapsed, causing some live power lines to go down, IFD said previously. Crews were able to bring the fire under control in about 30 minutes and no injuries were reported., the department said investigators determined the fire was arson, and anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Indiana Arson Hotline at 1-800-382-4628 or email TIPS1@dhs.in.gov.
Callers are not required to provide their name, and a reward of up to $5,000 may be available if a tip leads to an arrest and conviction, IFD said. Anyone in the area of the fire at the time who has photos, video, dash cam footage or security footage is asked to contact investigators at 317-327-6006 or FireInvestigations@indy.gov.WTHR would like to send you push notifications about the latest news and weather.
