Louisiana hospitals that are dealing with a surge of COVID-19 are bracing for a major hurricane over the weekend. Louisiana has one of the highest COVID-19 case rates per capita in the country.Ida strengthened into a Category 2 hurricane Saturday afternoon with maximum sustained winds of 100 mph.
Satellite imagery is now showing a well-defined eye in the center of Hurricane Ida. Rapid strengthening is expected today and Ida will be a major category 4 Hurricane in less than 24 hours.The latest forecast track has Ida coming ashore in southeast Louisiana on Sunday late afternoon / early evening as Category 4 Hurricane with 130 MPH winds.Satellite Imagery is now showing a well-defined eye in the center of Hurricane Ida.
