Alleging the New York Department of Corrections is failing to cooperate with their enforcement efforts, immigration officials have served four subpoenas demanding information on multiple individuals arrested in New York City

Alleging the New York Department of Corrections is failing to cooperate with their enforcement efforts, immigration officials have served four subpoenas demanding information on"multiple illegal aliens" arrested in New York City.

The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement is seeking information on individuals who were previously in state custody, as well as one individual, Reeaz Khan, who is being held in the alleged murder of a 92-year-old woman. Khan was arrested January 10 and charged with murder, sexual abuse and contact by forcible compulsion. CNN has reached out to his attorney.

Trump condemns open border policies as 'cruel and evil' 02:38"New York City will not change the policies that have made us the safest big city in America," Freddi Goldstein told CNN,"and administration's attempts to exploit this tragedy are absolutely shameful. We will review the subpoena once we receive it." For the city to comply with a detainer, she said, a person must be convicted of one of the 177 crimes the city designates as a violent or serious felony.

Inside the new border crisis 04:08NYPD spokeswoman Sgt. Jessica McRorie denied ICE's assertion, saying,"At that time, the NYPD did not receive an ICE detainer in regard to this individual." A judge, not the city, later ordered Khan released, Goldstein said."Sanctuary city" is a broad term used for jurisdictions that have policies in place designed to limit cooperation with federal immigration enforcement actions.

Just go away ice Nazis. Leave people alone. Were all immigrants here . Trump immigrated here from a cesspool.

I truly hope the family of the murdered 92-year-old Queens woman, Maria Fuertes sues the hell out of New York City and DeBlassio. That law breaking illegal alien should have been handed over to ICE instead they released him back onto the streets and a woman is dead.

Since NYC is a sanctuary for illegald is it any surprise that liberals side with the criminals?

NY correction is one of the most corrupt places in the entire nation.

New York is a disgrace!

They learned from Trump and associates, no need to obey subpoenas. Sorry, Immigration officials. But if you can ignore subpoenas from Congress with no harm, yours got no chance of being respected. Thanks Trump. Lesson learned.

Ignore them , just like Drumpf and his Minions do !

Haven't you heard? Subpoenas are optional.

ICE Director Says New York’s Sanctuary Policy Led to Killing of Queens WomanICE’s Matthew Albence blamed the murder of a 92-year-old woman in Queens earlier this month on New York City’s sanctuary policy, which he said protects illegal immigrants with criminal convictions. But Republikkkans won't blame guns for mass shootings. Interesting. Was the person here illegally and did NYC authorities prevent the deportation? If yes to both, then they are correct. Oh good, the anti-immigrant pogrom. Immigrants are less likely to commit crime than the native population, but xenophobic fascists need their excuses.
