When the first iPhone 16 rumors began spreading last year, mentioning a potential size increase for the Pro models, I wasn't too thrilled about the prospect. Rumors said the iPhone 16 Pro would feature a 6.3-inch display, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max would get a similar 0.2-inch bump to 6.9 inches. The reason for this was the iPhone 16 Pro's rear camera module. Apple planned to bring the iPhone 15 Pro Max's tetraprism zoom lens to the smaller iPhone 16 Pro.
And I don't want the iPhone to get heavier. In the worst-case scenario, I'd just settle for one of the non-Pro versions. After all, the iPhone 14 Pro I currently use proved that I don't need an iPhone Pro model. But those early iPhone 16 rumors were incomplete. Reports that followed said Apple wouldn't just increase the height and width of the iPhone 16 Pros to achieve that 0.2-inch bump. The company also planned to reduce the bezels further.
