My father was also a compulsive gambler and an alcoholic. One day, I woke up and looked at myself in the mirror, and I saw him looking back at me. Trading addiction can be very dangerous on its own, but it also makes you vulnerable to developing further addictions. Alcoholism or drug addiction are usually easier to see. But you can't see a compulsive gambler as easily. Crypto problems in particular can be difficult to recognize because some people view a trading addiction as a good thing. Family and friends may brush off the problem, thinking the person is simply being a dedicated businessman.
