I can’t tell you what is the moral decision, nor can I give you a foolproof agnostic formula for this. But if you are working to create a more fair economic structure, why are you being unfair to your potential in your side business? Income-sharing is meant to offset the unequal compensation of different work. It shouldn’t be one-sided, with one person martyring themselves to benefit every other party.
Don’t hamper your potential with your giving heart. Sharing doesn’t only come from your ability to deliver money to other people. You should feel the same kind of support from your income-sharing group as you’ve provided to them. If your only value is as a workhorse to funnel money to other people, how is that serving others? That’s just recreating a micro-form of capitalism.
