Sen. Bernie Sanders signed a pledge to the Democratic National Committee that declared he was a Democrat and would serve as one if elected president.

WASHINGTON – Sen. Bernie Sanders signed a pledge, required under new Democratic National Committee rules, that declared he was a Democrat and would serve as one if elected president, according to media reports.

"I am a member of the Democratic Party," the document signed by Sanders reads."I will run a Democrat, accept the nomination of my Party, and I will serve as a Democrat if elected." There was also question over whether Sanders should qualify for the primaries since he was registered as a Democrat.
