Hutto initiates Stage 1 water conservation despite expected rainfall: Will it suffice?

Includes Mason County until 4 am and the rest of our area until 2 am Thurs. Hail, high winds, isolated tornado threat, flooding rain risks.Flood Watch until 7 AM Thursday for the Austin Metro and most of Central Texas . Multiple rounds of heavy rainfall could lead to flooding.We're expected to get some significant rain, but will it be enough to help Hutto and the Highland Lakes ?

“With stage 1, it’s just more to remind everybody to conserve water, what your days would be once we get into stage 2, how you’re going to water, and when you can use your sprinkler system when you can’t, things like that,” said Hutto mayor Mike Snyder. “While this water is helpful for keeping our yards green, and things like that, it doesn’t really take away like in Austin, maybe they have to worry about the lake levels and how that affects their water,” Snyder said. “We don’t have that concern, we have a different one.”
