Dozens of former workers at a Tennessee chemical plant say prolonged exposure to mercury had long-term effects on their health & their lives.

CHARLESTON, Tenn. —She tells us on some nights when she came home, she would sleep in her son's bed.Eva believes what she brought home from work is to blame.But at the time, she says, "I was told that everything was safe."claiming the company forced them to work under hazardous conditions that changed their lives foreverIn this special report, we spoke with Van Hook and several more, who described how their lives were adversely affected after working at Olin .

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency says mercury enters the body through the lungs and is then absorbed into the bloodstream. And that can cause both long-term physical and psychological effects.I hurt literally from head to toe.But they say at the time they were handline mercury, their superiors assured them they were safe.

Webb was a construction worker. He claims in the lawsuit that his provided safety gear wasn't enough to protect him. A traffic light.. it may turn red or it may already be red and I don't know what to do. I don't know if I should go or stop. McMahan told us he is convinced years of unknowingly taking mercury home from work led him to where he is now.
