Hurricane Fiona knocked out power across all of Puerto Rico, causing “catastrophic” damage, the governor said.

Hurricane Fiona roared over the Dominican Republic on Monday after knocking out power across all of Puerto Rico, causing damage the governor said was"catastrophic." Many people were left without water service.

As much as 15 inches were projected for the eastern Dominican Republic, where authorities told most people to stay home from work, closed ports and banned use of beaches. Fiona also ripped asphalt from roads and washed away a bridge in the central mountain town of Utuado that police said was installed by the National Guard after Hurricane Maria hit in 2017 as a Category 4 storm.

I hope we move relief in faster than the last time. The hospital ship should be loading medical crew now and sailing within 8 hours. Every time a hurricane is hitting the ship should be prepared to go.

I think that an infrastructure project large enough to fix this might displace the locals entirely, and cost more than the island's gdp.

Bet all that green new deal power generation crap is keeping island powered, right…

Prime example of why its never 'Just a Category anything'!

You would think US would have sent money to build infrastructure to make sure electricity & water doesn't fail but instead waste money on projects that don't solve the root problem.
