earlier this year were found by a hunter this week in a state park, authorities said.

Peter Myers, 68, was reported missing to the Cherry Hill Police on June 7 and a day earlier his car was found abandoned on a dirt access road leading to Wharton State Forest in Waterford, according to a statement from the Cherry Hill Police Department. He was last seen leaving his job at Resintech Inc. on Federal Street in Camden three days earlier.

Officers from the department teamed with other law enforcement agencies, including the New Jersey State Park Police, to search the dense woodland of the forest but no signs of Myers or clues as to his whereabouts were found, police said. However, on Tuesday, a man hunting in a remote section of Wharton State Forest found human skeletal remains and called the Waterford Township Police Department. The remains were identified as those of Meyers, but his cause of death still remains under investigation.

Anyone with information about Meyers or the circumstances surrounding his disappearance and death was asked to call the New Jersey State Park Police at 927-6337 or Detective Chris Hendy of the Cherry Hill Police Department at 488-8826.
