An amalgamation of errors, bad luck batted balls, a challenge review and a hit-by-pitch invited chaos for a young pitcher known for his calm demeanor. The events that transpired in the third inning of theon Saturday had the potential to throw off many pitchers, much less a rookie like Hunter Brown.
“That’s a very mature statement,” Baker said. “He's pitching with a lot of determination, a lot of fire and making pitches when he had to.” “There was a lot of ballgame left,” Brown said. “Plus sometimes you just get baseballed, you know? Stuff happens and you’ve just got to battle through it and try and win a game.”
Through three turns in the rotation, Brown had the best WHIP and opponent batting average of Houston’s five starters. He was second only to Framber Valdez in innings pitched and ERA.
