Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes was a great success for The Hunger Games franchise, which could serve as a way to reboot the series and continue the adventure. The story was based on a spin-off novel which describes the origins and development of a young Coriolanus Snow from a compassionate young man into a ruthless leader who trusts no one but himself.
Exploring where his life goes from the end of the prequel to the start of the later films provides opportunities to see him stepping up and leading the Hunger Games, getting involved in politics, extending his sphere of influence whilst accumulating greater wealth. This would be a thoroughly interesting and compelling story to expand on and there are so many different angles to approach how his story continues.
6 Maude Ivory Baird Maude Ivory Baird was another member of the Covey, and a cousin of Lucy Gray's. In the movie she is seen to be about 8 or 9 years old, so presumably she is one of the characters that could survive until the events of the original movies. Maude is also one of the characters who had a close connection to, and history with, Lucy Gray. Even if Lucy Gray does not return in a future sequel, a character like Maude Ivory could help to bridge the gap.
With some help from young Coriolanus and his innovative ideas for the games, they made significant changes to the spectacle to increase its status and entertainment value for the audience in the Capitol. At the conclusion of the film, young Snow is taken under her wing to study and becomes an apprentice Gamemaker. This relationship could be a defining element throughout any sequel from Songbirds & Snakes, and make for a dramatic and intense villain arc.
