They say the community in Lisbon has been scared and under lockdown for multiple days, not knowing where the gunman from Wednesday night’s shooting was as police staged a manhunt. The police presence in town has been intense, with helicopters overhead and dive teams in the river. They say there was a sense of relief when the shooter’s body was found Friday evening. While so much healing is still ahead, Saturday night was about feeling connected again.
“The hope is that the community speaks to each other. That everyone has a chance to turn to your neighbor and get a hug, get a pat on the back,” Len Lednum of Positive Change Lisbon said. “I have four children myself, and we were in one of the search patterns. So, every five minutes, we had a helicopter going by. And we weren’t alone in that. Every part of this town, roads closed, everybody felt it.”Holy Family in Lewiston will hold a prayer service from 2-3 p.m.
